Inheritance
Are you receiving your Wages or your Inheritance?
What we deserve is death, this is the wages for our ungodly works.
You will automatically receive your wages.
We all receive these wages until, we turn from the King of darkness and turn to the King of light.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When we repent of our sin and turn to Jesus, he makes us the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Repentance is a crucial concept in Christian theology. It involves turning away from sin, feeling sorrow for our wrongdoing, and resolving not to repeat it. When we repent, we acknowledge our need for forgiveness and seek reconciliation with God. Here are some key points about repentance:
- Definition of Repentance:
- Repentance means turning away from sin with disgust, sorrow, and a determination not to continue in that sinful behaviour.
- It's necessary because sin separates us from God, disrupting our relationship with Him.
- The Bible defines sin as any thought, word, or deed that goes against God's holy standard.
- Repentance involves both a change of mind and a change of direction.
- Our Inability to Repent on Our Own:
- Trying to overcome sin through sheer willpower is futile. The more we strive for perfection, the more we realize our shortcomings.
- The apostle Paul explains that no one can be justified (declared righteous) by following the law because it only reveals our sinfulness1.
- Sin has a powerful hold over us, making us slaves to it1.
- The Role of the Holy Spirit:
- Regeneration (being "born again") is an instantaneous work of the Holy Spirit.
- Through regeneration, new spiritual life is imparted to those dead in their sins.
- This work of grace enables us to consciously repent and turn to Christ in faith1.
- Faith and Repentance:
- Repentance and faith go hand in hand. You can't separate them in salvation.
- To be saved, we must place faith in Christ for forgiveness, which requires a change of mind (repentance) about our way of life2.
In summary, repentance is a gift from God, made possible through Christ. It's our response to His grace, leading us to turn away from sin and toward Him1. 🙏🏼
